The very elementary principles of the ShaoLin style are to bring all the students to the complete physical, philosophical and psychological understanding of the demonstrated techniques. How to face adversity, how to adapt to the enemy's movements without making any efforts nor trying to resist, how to bend as far as possible and then come back stronger than ever? These techniques are not supported by the idea of "power", but on the ideas of saving energy and moderation to avoid any extremes. This is why a real adept practicing the ShaoLin avoids using force. He is flexible, simply, like a spring. He tries to melt harmoniously with the strength used by the adversary - to become its complement - and not its opposite.

The Chisasibi school specializes in Long Fist or Chang Chuan style. Some of the Long Fist concepts are large and wide postures, continuous movement, approach, withdrawal, and relaxation. Long Fist style specializes in kicking but the martial artist must study various hand techniques in order to complement the kicking. In addition, Long Fist has a number of weapons, including narrow and wide blade swords, three sectional staff, spear, rod, etc. Long Fist also specializes in middle and long range fighting. Although Long Fist has techniques for the short range, they will usually attempt, by various maneuvers, to keep themselves and their opponents in the middle and long range where they can effectively apply their speciality - kicking. Even though Long Fist stylists train with some high stances, in sparring they stand low.
